There are certain technological advancement which are expected to make revolution/evolution on the society way of operation for a better or worse. I will list here some of these technologies that I expect will make an impact on the society.

IOT
Internet of Things (IOT) is already being implemented in the developed countries and major cities of developing countries. The new 5G or 6G telecommunication network is expected to facilitate the deployment of the IOT infrastructure, however there are some concern about the effect of 5G radio frequency have on microtubules of human. Sophisticated sensors are being developed at big organisation and universities worldwide, optical modulators and detectors are making these devices smaller, faster and compact. New materials are also being synthesised or discovered, which creates new functionality or improves the existing micro/nano technologies and driving the IOT system.
In addition, it is expected that artificial intelligence will play a big role in the coming decades on every major sectors of technological advancement related to IOT. For instance, deep learning is used to facilitate designing complex advance optics such as freeform optics, and also it is deployed for improving speed and data storage in quantum computing.
Human computer interaction is a fascinating topic to discuss in this sector. There are a handful of startups that are investigating this area seriously. Their aim is to augment the day to day activity of people with hardware based digital technology. This area requires deep understanding of human brain neurones.
In short, IOT covers a broad area of research and development but the over all aim is to improve the intercommunication between devices and people. The social effect of this technological advancement, however, should be examined carefully. For example, the influence of social media, surveillance cameras and cyber security on the society wellbeing have been the major debating point in the social science circle, I will discuss about this topic on my next blog.
3D Printing
Hardware is a major part of any system. 3D printing has been shown a tremendous advantage in realising complex shapes from printing optical elements and human body parts up-to printing robot exoskeleton. In brief term, 3D-printing technology will be part of our life, it will exist in our home in order to synthesis our drink or print our food, in our office to realise our artistic design or build our house on earth, moon or mars. However, in addition to physical limitation of the mechanical parts that form the 3D printer, the printing process controlling softwares or algorithms requires further tweak and also the list of materials that are used in the 3D printing process could be improved.
BioTechnology
In my point of view, , biotechnology areas will be the major beneficiary from the other technological sectors advancement. Many of the technical issues will be analysed digitally like genetic sequencing, increasing agricultural production and disease diagnosis. The ultimate goal of biotechnology is to create healthy environment and human being. Genetic sequencing is found to be a corner stone in the customisation of cancer patient treatment. The more we understand human biology, the closer we are to comprehend our existence. For instance, there is new school of thought that connects human biology with quantum physics to describe consciousness. Thus, it is expected in the future that interoperability between different fields will be the key for a sophisticated way of explaining our existence.
These ideas will be developed further!
